It is inappropriate to contact the judge of the Municipal Court outside of the Municipal Court’s regular business hours. If you have any question about the pending trial, the availability of witnesses, or any matter pertinent in your case, you may contact the City Attorney's Office by calling (903) 465-2720 ext. 2442.
If you are interested in any vacant land owned by the City, please contact the City's Community Development Department at 500 W. Chestnut Street, Denison, Texas, 75020 (second floor at City Hall) or by telephone at (903) 465-2720 ext. 2466. Please be ready to provide a street address or County Appraisal District Identification number at the time of your inquiry to the City. The City has no obligation to entertain request to purchase City owned land. Nonetheless, if the City wishes to entertain a request to purchase land, it must follow procedures set out in the Texas Local Government Code governing sales of real property by municipalities. Upon receipt of your inquiry, the City will conduct an internal review to determine whether the property may be needed for future projects or whether the property is unneeded surplus property. If City staff determines that the property is suitable for disposition, it will seek authorization from the Denison City Council to advertise the property for sale to the highest bidder. The City Council reserves the right to accept the highest bid or reject all bids.

The maximum amount that can be spent on a project is $3,500. There are limited areas that can be addressed under emergency rehabilitation such as gas leaks, broken water pipes, some sewer problems, and heating issues. The maximum amount that can be spent on emergency projects is $1,000.
The location of the house determines what funds will be used to demolish the structure. The length of time from posting to demolition varies greatly due to a number of circumstances. The most time consuming task is to contact all of the people who might have an ownership in the property and have them sign a release to demolish the house. This task alone can take up to six months or more.

Because of the potential for damage to vehicles, the Police Department does not open locked vehicles under any other circumstances. A locksmith is your best alternative.
Fingerprints are performed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The cost is $10 per card and you must supply your own fingerprint card.

Copies of these reports will be made available according to the guidelines of the State of Texas Public Information Act. There is no charge for reports.
There are two drop boxes. One is located at the drive-through on the east side of the building. The other drop box is located at the entrance to the east parking lot off of Chestnut Street. Attach your stub to your payment for posting purposes. Payment should be in the form of check or money order. Please do not place cash in the drop box.
Sewer on commercial customer accounts is based on water usage each month.
Example: The usage on your September 2014 bill was 3,800 cubic feet or 28,428 gallons (3,800 x 7.481 = 28,428).
As you know, the City experienced an exceptionally wet spring and early summer. Over 30 inches of rain fell between May and July. However, less than ½ inch of rain fell on the City in August. As a result, many residents did not start watering their yards until August, which means that if you water your yard, your water usage increased dramatically in August which is reflected on your September bill. During a normal year, water usage from outside watering will increase gradually usually beginning in May or June and peak in July or August.
