TxDOT: FM 691 U-turn lane closure slated for July 12th

Texas Department of Transportation officials announced today that the north- and southbound U-turn lanes on FM 691 at US 75 will close for construction beginning July 12.

Detours will be in place, officials said.

Travelers are advised to prepare for this change. While this closure is underway, north- or southbound travelers will have to use the direct underpass with traffic signals if they wish to U-turn at FM 691. Signs will guide travelers along detour routes, officials said.

TxDOT asks all drivers statewide to pay close attention to all traffic controls and remain alert to the presence of road crews when encountering or navigating through a construction zone.

Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
