July Scavenger Hunt
Get ready to explore the greatness of Denison in celebration of National Parks and Recreation Month! Join us for an engaging month-long scavenger hunt that will take you on journeys through our beautiful parks. Each week, we'll reward the top team with a prize. If there's a tie for first place, we will randomly draw a team name for the weekly winner. Grab your phones, rally your friends and family, and let's make summer memories that will last a lifetime! To embark on this thrilling quest, simply follow these steps to create your PlayTours account:
- Visit pyts.link
- Enter the game code: ZQIQ
- Click on the button “Click here to start” to sign up for your PlayTours account.
Weekly Themes:
- July 1-7: Nature Exploration Week
- July 8-14: Local History Week
- July 15-21: Family Fun Week
- July 22-29: Community Connections Week
Rules and Guidelines:
- Players will be able to play alone or create teams with multiple players, with the max number of devices per team being two.
- Once officially registered, you'll gain access to weekly scavenger hunt locations and tasks.
- Weekly challenges will begin Mondays at 12:00am and end on the following Sunday at 11:59pm. You will not have access to the previous week or future week’s hunts outside of the respective time-frame.
- You do not have to complete all the tasks in a week to go on to the next week’s scavenger hunt.
- If you miss a week for any reason, that does not exclude you from participating in the rest of the weekly hunts.
- There will be one bonus task per week to gain an extra 100 bonus points.
- Please know that these bonus tasks will occasionally involve a non-refundable fee for participation. The City of Denison will not reimburse participants for fees to partake in the bonus tasks, as the tasks are skippable and not required to complete. But don't fret, these experiences are worth the memories you will make by yourself or with your teammates!
- Players will be available to view an online leader board to see where they are ranked. Each week, we will reward the top team with a prize, and if any teams are tied for first, we will randomly draw a team name for the weekly winner.
- You do not need to download an app to play, just make sure that your mobile device has a browser application to access the game.
- Bring your phone when you head to the hunt locations.
- No task or hidden QR Code will be unsafe to reach or located in a restricted area.
- QR Codes will not be placed underneath any parks equipment or above 6ft. off the ground.
- You will not need to look through flower beds or dig anywhere to complete any challenges.
