Cemetery Advisory Board

Responsibilities

The Cemetery Advisory Board shall serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council and City Manager with the following duties: 

• Offer advice and recommendations for the management and operation of all cemeteries owned and/or maintained by the City of Denison.
• Offer advice and recommendations for the management and operation of such other city cemeteries, either existing or new, as the city council may direct from time to time.
• Consider the acquisition of land and/or other facilities for the cemeteries and make recommendations on such to the city council.
• Make recommendations regarding the use and improvement of the cemeteries and grounds.
• Recommend that the city council enter into contracts, interlocal agreement and lease agreement regarding cemetery activities.
• Serve in an advisory capacity in all matters as may, from time to time, be referred to the cemetery board by the city council or city manager.
