Responsibilities

The City of Denison is the sole provider of municipal waste collection and transportation services for all customers located within the city limits. The only exception is recycling services provided by Waste Connections. 

Residential garbage is collected once per week street side. Commercial waste services are provided up to 6 days per week. The city also provides a program to pick up bulk and brush and limbs street side 6 times per year for residential customers. Solid waste services run every holiday except Christmas Day.

Non-Resident Recycling

Due to the end of our current recycling contract with Waste Connections, and new contract with Republic Services, commercial collection of recycling refuse at our Residential Collection Station is ending. Effective 02/01/2023, the City of Denison will no longer have commercial recycling dumpsters at our Residential Collection Station. The commercial recycling dumpsters owned by Waste Connections, and located at the Residential Collection Station, will be removed and recycling refuse from residents outside City limits will no longer be able to be accepted.
