Starting Salary

Minimum Starting Salary - $70,350

Top Out Salary - $91,791

Lateral salary dependent on size of agency, experience, and at the Chief's discretion. 

 

Definition of Certified Officer -  A peace officer certified in the state of Texas, or an out of state certified officer that successfully challenges the Texas peace officer exam. 

The starting salary for a certified officer is at the Chief’s discretion, based on factors such as job experience, the size of the department from which they have experience, etc. 

To qualify for lateral pay, certified officers must be currently working for a law enforcement agency or recently worked for a law enforcement agency within the last 3 months. However, applications will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
